Research

Interdisciplinary Behavioral Science Centers for Mental Health (IBSC) which work on collaborative, hypothesis-driven basic research activities that will extend the most cutting-edge theories and approaches in basic behavioral science to incorporate current approaches in neuroscience.

Eligible applicants include domestic, for-profit and non-profit organizations, public and private, such as universities, colleges, hospitals, Laboratories, units of State and local governments, and eligible agencies of the Federal government. Foreign institutions are not eligible.

Full-scale Centers are limited to $1.5 million direct costs in any one year for five or more individual research projects as well as for core support for up to five years. Start-up Centers are limited to $600,000 direct costs in any one year, for three or more individual research projects as well as for core support for up to five years.
